Corsair Obsidian 650D

Hi Corsair, finally you will release a Miditower version of 700D and 800D!
But I have two questions:

1. But will there be an adapter for a front 3.5"?
I have a memory card reader with integrated IR and remote control for Windows Media Center and I don't want to loose that function of my all-around-PC.

2. Will there be a no-window version also available?

Best Regards,
Calle2003

I don't believe there are plans for a 5.25 - 3.5 bay adapter, though I'll ask. You can buy these anyway - StarTech does one (plastic though) and Silverstone and Lian Li have metal ones I believe. But I will check if it's possible to have a Corsair one as an accessory.

I think the choice is mesh or a window, but again I'll pass the request on!

Thank you. I can not be the only one using external 3.5" peripherals.
I like Corsairs build quality and design so it would be great if I could buy one with suitable (same material and color) adapters!

Iam not sure either, but i think it wouldnt be so hard to put a slot there on your own, you can just bend some metal the way you like it like an 5.25 - 3.5" adapter, or there is a couple to buy on stores like Kjell och kompany. And the fron thing should be very easy to just cut, should take less then 5min. But yes indeed they should put a slot for it, even if many people dont use it :> Sorry for my english! But as the other gentleman i pass this question!

I found this one but it doesn't look good if it's not the same color as the rest of the case: http://www.kjell.com/content/templat...spx?item=38171

Well there is metal brackets only to buy for the 5.25 - 3.5" with out the "front" then you can just cut your front nicley and it will look really good Just use a dremmel saw or anything like that. Should be really easy to do!

But I don't have a dremmel saw. Not everyone on SweClockers have one you know!
I know a carpenter who might have one but he lives 2 hours by car from my place.

I have a drill but no saw. Either way I don't do ghetto mods on such an expensive case. Hopefully Corsair will fulfill my request.

Is there LED fans on this case?

this question is driving me nuts because I cant find this answer anywhere i look, And i cant find any videos of it running wiht a system.

And is the front 200mm fan replaceable whit 2x 120mm?

Nope, no LEDs in Obsidian Series cases. I don't believe the front fan can be switched for 2 x 120, though you can change the top 200 for 2 x 120mm (intended for a 120.2 rad), as with the 600T.

Hi, I was wondering if the 200mm fans, are they of the same "type" as used in Graphite case? Except for the LEDs ofcourse. Im wondering about the structure.

Slightly different as they run at 1000rpm (max) rather than 700rpm in the 600T. The 650D also has a slightly different fan controller, which works in three steps (roughly 7V, 9V, 12V).

Hi again!
I was wondering how high you would say the noise sound is with the original 2 200mm fans and the 120 mm fan is. And that also in all three modes (7V, 9V, 12V). I hate noise so its VERY important for me .

Noise is pretty subjective, but even a 200mm fan at 1000rpm isn't noisy (imho), and at 7V/9V I would certainly class it as quiet.

Is there still no news on a windowless side panel for 650D?

I really don't want a side panel with a window and I would prefer the clean look of a side panel without a mesh.

Of course there is the option of 700D, but it's a bit too big for my needs right now.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could just order a spare "back" panel and replace the window front one.

Would be great if Corsair could confirm that.

I believe the panels fit either side, so it should be possible to use a right side-panel on the left side (as you look face on). That's certainly the case with 600T. I'll double check for the 650D though, but it should be the same.

EDIT: Yes, that is the case. So you could potentially get a solid side-panel to replace the windowed one. It's not an 'official' option though, at this time.

I'm not quite sure I understand which side panel you are refering to. The only ones I can find in Corsair's own store is:

http://www.corsair.com/cases/case-ac...h-inserts.html
http://www.corsair.com/windowed-side...ower-case.html
http://www.corsair.com/cases/case-ac...ower-case.html

None of these are for the "right" hand side. The first two have windows and the third one is for 700D/800D which I assume is larger then a 650D side panel. And you can't seriously have suggested I buy two cases just to get the second side panel, or can you?

Now I'm not in any rush really as my plan is to upgrade in the summer (most likely), but it is a bit frustrating as I see 650D as the ideal case for me otherwise. I might sound old and grumpy now, but in my ideal world solid panels would be the obvious standard and side panels with windows should come as the nice option for those willing to pay extra for that.

It would be a case of trying to get a second solid panel as an RMA. As I say, it's not an official option though, which is why you can't see the option to order it.

Kinda have the same question as a previous poster. Can you swap out the front 200m at all? Or is there no mountings for 120mm there.
Because I don't really like the transition chases are doing to 200m, feels like 120mm is a perfect size.
