Börjar tröttna på alla dessa löften om guld och gröna skogar som utlovas och sedan var det inte så kul ändå eller halvbra implementerat.
Jag hoppas att de lyckas bra med detta spelet men jag vågar inte hoppas för mycket.

Jag är precis som du. Det pratas alltid så stort och lovande om alla nya spel som kommer men ingen lyckas hålla en.

Dock det jag tror kommer bli underbart i detta spel är det fakto att det blir som EVE bara fantasy istället. Dvs en endaste server, alla spelar ihop. Det blir en sandbox dvs att allt du kan göra är tillåtet. Allt är spelar styrt, dom ger oss bara våran lekplats. Tittar man på EVE så har dom lyckats enormt bra. Jag som egentligen hatar Sci-Fi spelade i 3 år EVE och funderar på att börja igen så det säger något

Håller med till 100%. Vi får se vad det blir av det, för mig är det öppen (fantasy) PvP som lockar men tyvärr ser det ut som att deras PvP går mot en väg jag inte gillar.

PFO Settlement Market Progression WIP

The Basics of Buildings

Buildings are structures created in a settlement. They include workshops where characters can use various crafting skills, training halls where characters can learn various martial or magical combat skills, commerce and storage structures such as marketplaces and banks, defensive structures that improve the settlement's guard force or strengthen its defenses against direct attack, and a variety of special-use structures that serve a variety of purposes. Low-level buildings are relatively cheap to construct, but they offer limited benefits and are easy to destroy. As a settlement invests in improving a building, the building "levels up" and provides better benefits and more expanded capabilities.

Settlements in Pathfinder Online are essentially groups of plots into which buildings are designed to fit. These plots are grouped into several large districts, each with its own potential building sites for buildings of various sizes. Some structures gain a benefit from sharing a district with other structures of similar or linked purpose. Settlement layouts aren't grid puzzles like the game Cathedral; they're more like planned subdivisions with curving roads, some predefined open spaces and lots of various sizes. The largest and most important buildings can't all be crammed into the same district, but deciding which buildings you want, which districts to put them in, and which plots in the districts to build on will provide settlement leaders with plenty of customization options.

FAQ

Q: Is Pathfinder Online going to continue production?

A: With the current financial support we receive each month from the Pathfinder Online community, we get enough monthly revenue to keep a small core team consisting of CTO Mark Kalmes, Art Director Mike Hines and Designer Bob Settles employed and working on progressing the game. EE10.2 is just about to be released and the goal is to ship EE11 by the end of September. Any continued production beyond EE11 will be determined by either the continued financial support of the Pathfinder Online community, or finding a publisher to take over the funding and development of the game.

Q: What can the small core team accomplish on Pathfinder Online?

A: With Mark, Mike and Bob, we are able to cover all of the major disciplines and any specific task that comes up with regard to getting EE 10.2 and EE 11 tested and out the door. We will be asking for any help players can provide with testing on Zog as usual, but we believe we should be able to test all of the core system changes and review most of the content changes regardless.

EE 10.2 is believed complete and in final testing. The bulk of the work for EE 11 is also complete and very achievable with the current team in a relatively short period of time.

After EE 11 is live, we will be able to continue to fix bugs, add polish, support the live community and patch if needed. We will most likely not be adding any features unless we are able to secure funding, partners or increase subscriptions enough to allow us to re-hire or add new staff.

Q: What does it mean to find a publisher to take over Pathfinder Online?

A: We would be selling Goblinworks to another publisher who would then take over the running and funding of the game. They would hire the staff to ramp up the development on the game. Goblinworks would cease to exist as a publisher.

Q: Is Pathfinder Online going to shut down?

A: The servers and staff for the game have been paid for through the end of September. As long as the monetary support from the community continues to fund the operating of the servers, we will keep the game live. If half of the current community continues to support Pathfinder Online with their monthly subscription fees, we would be able to keep the servers live indefinitely, but we would not have money to keep our core team employed and continuing the development of the game.

Q: With Ryan leaving the company, will he still have anything to do with the game?

A: While Ryan has needed to leave the company for personal reasons, he is still a major shareholder and has a strong desire to see Pathfinder Online succeed. He has graciously made himself available for consultation as needed by the team.

Q: Do you agree with the general direction Ryan set for the game?

A: When we first starting to think about making Pathfinder Online, Paizo hired Ryan to create a design document that would be used as a template for making the game. The Paizo team approved that document and that has been used as the marching orders for the team ever since. That won’t change now that Ryan is not with the company.

Q: Who will provide GM support/Forum moderation and answer customer service emails?

A: Bob has been answering the customer service emails for over a week now and doing some forum moderation. We will be reaching out to the settlement leaders soon to discuss how the community might get involved.

Q: When will EE11 come out?

A: EE11 is done in design, almost entirely done in art, and just needs a bit more programming to get it to the point where we can test. The core team has the goal of shipping EE11 by the end of September, and we'll keep you updated on our progress.

Q: Who are you talking to about taking over the game?

A: We have been talking to a wide variety of companies about taking over development of the game. Due to confidentiality issues, we can’t reveal who they are right now, but rest assured that the Pathfinder Online community will be the first to know when a deal happens.

Q: Any thoughts about lowering the monthly price?

A: Every time we have lowered the price on Pathfinder Online in the past nine months, we have kept the same number of folks playing the game but brought in less money. At a time when we are entirely reliant on the revenue from subscriptions to keep the game live on the server and employ our core team, decreasing the monthly price is not an option.

Q: Are you still recruiting new players? Marketing?

A: We are always looking for new players for the game. EE10.2 will have a vast revamp of the new player experience in an effort to help new players get into the game. We will still be offering the free 15-day trial accounts that we have in the past. But the main way we are going to reach new players is through you, the active Pathfinder Online player. We need you to reach out to the various communities you are active in and find like-minded players who would enjoy Pathfinder Online. If everyone brought just one more person into the game, we would be able to expand our headcount and the game would get made quicker.

Q: How can the community help?

A: The number one way the community can help is by continuing to pay your monthly subscriptions to fund the ongoing development of the game and keep the servers live. Also, reaching out to other gamers you think might enjoy Pathfinder Online is a great way for us to grow our player base. Beyond that, keep doing what you already do—answering questions from new players, offering to group up, running classes for Pathfinder University, and just making both the live game and the forums a great place to game.

Q: What about Kickstarter Rewards?

A: Most of the Kickstarter Rewards were expected to be shipped with Open Enrollment. However, we have been working on them all along and will continue to deliver them to backers as they become available. We just recently provided the Hellknights Most Wanted backers with their own unique avatars on paizo.com and the Paizo art team is creating the wanted posters to add to the Emerald Spire Superdungeon PDF.

Q: Is Paizo taking over running Goblinworks?
A: No. Goblinworks is a licensee of Paizo's. While Lisa Stevens is also the CEO at Paizo, Paizo is not "taking the reins" or increasing its involvement in Pathfinder Online in any way (they are busy enough as it is!). Goblinworks is currently seeking investors or an acquisition to move the game forward. Paizo itself is focused on their tabletop offerings.

The Road Forward
Hello players of Pathfinder Online! Lisa here, with a sizeable update and roadmap into the future.

As many of you recall from my last address, I had hired an electronic game agent to look at the game and then come back to me with their recommendations. After spending almost a month analyzing the game, they presented me with their results. There was good and bad news given in this briefing. The bad news was that they didn’t feel that there were any large MMO companies that would be willing to put large sums of money into finishing the game. However, they felt that the game as implemented with the addition of some of the missing features would fill a niche in the marketplace quite nicely and felt that there was upside there for a more indie type company. They presented me with a list of companies for whom that might be a nice fit and I gave them permission to pursue talking to them.

But their biggest recommendation to me was to just finish the game myself. They felt there was a sizeable upside for Paizo. I was very hesitant to do this at first, but was determined to see what it might take financially to realize their vision. After doing some analysis I decided that it was time to not sit on the sidelines anymore waiting for a white knight to swoop in. Instead, I am committing to a one year timeline to finish off the following list of features that will finish out a feature set that I feel represents the game well. At that point, we will move the game out of Early Enrollment and hopefully be able to expand our staff and continue to add to the game as we always planned to.
To be perfectly upfront, we are going to have a very small team working on these features. Cole and Bob are onboard along with myself to bring these across the finish line. Because we have this small, scrappy team, we aren’t aiming to compete with the AAA MMOs of the world. Rather, we will be more of an indie MMO aiming at providing a fun and engaging game to a more niche market.

While creating the following list of features to work on, I had a number of factors to consider.

I looked for features where a considerable amount of work had already been done and it would only take a small amount of work to bring those features into the game. Settlement building upgrades are a great example of this. We had an environmental artist working on these for two years and much of his output has never been seen in the game.

I looked for features that activate elements that currently don’t work in the game. There is nothing as frustrating for a new player as being told, “Oh, that isn’t implemented in the game yet” when they encounter a feat or recipe or something else. Great examples of this are the ammo system or the gods.

I looked for features that will make it much easier for new players to learn the game and increase the probability that they will stick with the game. A great example of this is that we are going to create a Core Rulebook for the game which will serve as a way to not only learn the game but also as a great offline reference while you play the game.

I looked for features that helped to fill out the robustness of a facet of the game. Gushers for gathering and Alliances and Blacklists for settlement control are great examples.

I looked for ways to bring more revenue in for us to grow the operations through a more robust cash shop. Player owned houses is a great example here.

Finally, I wanted to deliver on some of the Kickstarter promises. Giving out the daily deals is a great example.

Bob, Cole and I then sat down with a pretty exhaustive list of things we would like to do and we debated how we could accomplish them and how long it would take. We only have a limited amount of both time and labor, so we had to look for the biggest bang for the buck.

The end result of that debate is the roadmap below. We have worked to provide a release schedule and an idea of the timing of each release to provide you with a clearer path about when you might expect new things to enter the game. As always, we will be crowdforging those features as we start to work on them to glean the experiences of the players.

To get this work done on time and on budget, we are going to need to be laser focused. It is going to take a gargantuan effort by this team. But with your support and continued input, we believe that it can be done. We have set up our roadmap so that it has some flex time where we will try to get more done than is represented on the map below. Many of these additional things will be related to various Kickstarter perks. Others are fun things that we would like to see added to the game but aren’t essential.

Of course, finishing out the feature set is only one half of the equation. We need quite a few more people playing the game for all of this to work. Thankfully, I have various marketing efforts planned that will bring in tens of thousands of people to try out the game. I just need to make sure that when I kick those plans into effect, that the game is to a point where they will have the best chance of sticking and becoming regular players. We aren’t at that point yet and it may take a half year or more before I am ready to bring a lot more players. But I wanted you to know that it will be coming as part of this takeover of the game by Paizo.

We felt that you needed this update and this roadmap. You have been so supportive of this game without any clear idea of what was going to get done, if ever, and heck, even if the game was going to survive another month. Well, those times of uncertainty are over.

More Meaningful Territorial Control

Give Settlements more control over who can use their facilities (bank, auction house, crafting queues and trainers), including those in alliances and those on blacklists.

Let settlements select a 3-day period for their PvP windows to be open and require 48-hour minimum delay on feuds.

Bring back support, but provide partial support to learned ranks above those supported by Settlement Level.

Protect hexes that have at least 4 allied neighbors from attack.

Add shrines to settlements that can only be used by allies.

Restrict Outposts to only producing bulk resources at the upgrade level of the Holding.

Opt-In PvP

Allow more PvP in Monster hexes.

Allow less PvP in Shield/NPC hexes.

Give Holding owners control of PvP rules in their hexes.

Change Azlanti Crystals to rare but unrestricted drops, and drop recipes for combining/separating them.

Add elite (T3) variants of selected T2 escalations.

Make enemies attack all nearby characters, not just those in a party.

Polish retargeting system so enemies do a better job of finding alternate targets and spreading out when they lose or can’t reach their original targets.

Show upgraded art for upgraded Holdings and Outposts.

Let allies bank, train and craft at holdings, and restrict others from regaining power.
