AMD fans would like to crow over this, but Intel isn't the only manufacturer struggling to reach its next die shrink. Sunnyvale's problems converting to SOI are well-known, and it'll be surprising if their own .09 micron die shrink goes off without a hitch. Even IBM, who invented the SOI process, has reported problems in its East Fishkill fabrication plant.
