Processorer testade är AMD Athlon 64 X2 från 4000+ till 5000+, AMD Athlon X2 BE-2350, Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 och E4500 samt Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2140 och E2160.
Dessa testas i en rad program. Bland annat testas spelprestanda med integrerad grafik och vanligt grafikkort, renderingsprestanda och hur lång tid det tar att koda en film. Även överklockning och strömförbrukning testas.
Bäst integrerad grafik har AMD-plattformen med styrkretsen AMD 690G. Med ett vanligt grafikkort så vinner dock Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 med Athlon 64 X2 5000+ och Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 på andra plats.
Intressantast i Anandtechs test är överklockningsprestanda. Den väldigt billiga Intel Pentium Dual-Core överklockar enkelt till prestandanivåer över den mycket dyrare Core 2 Duo E6550 i det lägre highend-segmentet. Anandtech skriver:
Here's the problem: the fastest AMD CPU we tested gets around 45 fps in our WME test, while the cheapest Intel CPU when overclocked gets 51 fps. There's no simpler way of putting it: if you take overclocking into account, there's just no way to even consider the AMD CPUs.
