I have a big trouble with a new firmware. My PCH-C200 connected to TV LG42LE7500 via HDMI. When the C200 booting and appear a popup with NMT starting, my TV restarts itself - simply turn off, after that - turn on itself. Later, when i watching a movie or listen a music, the same trouble is appear. With the previous firmware, such trouble dont appear.
Same story here.
It's terrible! My TV restarts itself again and again! HDMI CEC on my TV is turned off. WTF!?
my tv is LG 37LE5500
restats randomly since the last firmware installed.I tried different settings but no luck
So you both have LG tv so something between the new firmware and LG tv's always good to get as much information for the devs, as if they dont have an LG tv they could never reproduce it. So try to get as much information as you can. Are both of your tv's connected to the network? Like are they smart tv's? if so unplug the network cable from the tv and see if it restarts. I remember people had this issue with LG tv's and 300 series, Turned out LG tv's suffer from a upnp bug that causes them to restart.
This sounds vaguely familiar to the upnp bug in the tvs.. do you both happen to have them connected to the network? The better upnp stack is in this release and some googling and you'll see this behavior in the tv from more than just the pch.
I never really followed the progress on this one, but there's a chance your tv has an update to fix it. IIRC the bug is lg taking a client announcement asking for upnp server as a power command.
Indeed, unplugging TV from the local network solved the problem. But why previous firmware worked fine? The another problem is - my wife often used network capabilities of TV...
The new firmware has a new upnp stack I would call lg and complain as there is no reason a upnp call should restart the TV. I have tablets, computers, cell phones, dvr, that all are fine with PCh upnp its just lg tv,'s . Even if the pch sends out a malformed request a device should not choke on it. Also LG might have an internal update that is not published on there website for this type of issue. Just explain when its connected to the network it randomly restarts.
Unplugged from LAN. My restarting issues disappeared for now.so far so good.
Thanx
Same for me. Never had that before the last 1,5 years. It started 5 minutes after the update. It happens during watching movies, listening to music, watching Youtube etc.
My setup:
Denon AVR-1911
LG 42LE8500
Popcorn C200
This issue is extremely annoying and I tried quite a few things already:
-Reset to factory default (of course)
-Tried different Video Outputs
-Changing Framerate Sync
-Power cycle all the devices
-Replugged the HDMI cables again
So far no luck. This makes the device pretty much useless. It happens about every 10 minutes. Usually a few times after each other.

Just read this one. Yes my TV is connected (wired) to the network. Let's see if unplugging makes it restart --> no nothing happens.
The situation is actually worse. When just watching TV, while the Popcorn is on, it resets as well.

OK, with the network cable unplugged it seems to work again. Tested while watching Incredibles without any disconnects. Incredible you may say.
Another feature after the firmware release is the automatic reset to a default IP (weird address) and Gateway (255.255.0.0) when shutting down and rebooting the device. I wonder where the device does get that IP from?
I use the Wired Auto IP setting. Anyway this didn't cause any issues for me, but this is just for the record of this thread and C200 dev team.
All in all I've to say the C200 never worked 100% for me, but on the other hand it gives me a lot of fun as well Wink
Anyway, thanks all for the forum help so far. Much appreciated.
I have exactly the same issue on my LG. The C200 is connected to an Onkyo Receiver, even when I am watching from another source, my TV is turning off and on again. It happen continously on a time frame between 5-10 minutes. Is there any hope for a fix or a workaround?
UPDATE:
My TV is and LG 55LX9500, I've read the fix with unplugin the network cable on the TV. I will try this fix and let you know if that helped me out.
My LG 42LE8500 TV started a few day's ago with random reboots every 5-10 minutes. I pulled my hairs out what was going on. Today, I had a brainwave: I updated the PCH-200 a few day's ago! It is in my LAN in another room, and the TV is connectred to the LAN with a cable. I pulled the cable from the PCH, and no reboots any more! Looking through this forum, I found this comment which confirmes my conclusion.
So now I have 2 questions:
1. @QwertyBoy: What is 'this fix' you are talking about? Where did you read about it?
2. What is the real cause of the problem? And is thre going to be a fix for this?
Call LG and ask for a fix, same issues happen with A300/C300 and LG tv's its something in the new UPNP stack that causes LG tv's to reboot. Even if the pch is sending a malformed UPNP message it should not cause a device to reboot, I have multiple UPNP devices on my network and nothing reboots, Its just and LG problem.
This is true that the LG shouldn't reboot if it receives a malformed request, but it's also true that the PCH shouldn't be sending one, if that's indeed the cause.
LG ought to fix the problem, but the PCH shouldn't be causing it in the first place, so there's good reason to argue that Syabas should remedy this in the bug-fix firmware they are planning to bring out to deal with the urgent issues, especially as it's a newly-introduced problem.
Its hard to say were the fault lies at the time it was found on the 300 series. A google search would bring up some other upnp software solutions that caused the same thing with LG tv's so more then likely its an LG issue. I have tablets, cell phones, computers, dvr's, game consoles that all listen to the pch upnp requests without issue. And if i remember right the upnp stack in the box is actually a 3rd party solution not written by syabas.
I can confirm that after the remove of the network cable on my LG TV, everything is working normal.
How can I install the firmware version before this one? I have a LG 47LX9500 wich restarts itself at random intervals after installing this firmware version. Have had several LG engineers visiting me (wich all replaced the mainboard without succes) and explained them the problem most probably resides within the UPNP stack. Now they will come a replacement for my LG TV.
Now i'd like the revert back to the old firmware verion before this new model starts rebooting itself too....
Thanks in advance
remove the networkcable from your LG TV, LG has a bug in the UPNP Code, so ask them for a firmware update for your TV.
You can return to previous firmware with flashing the recovery image.
