Corsair Force GT 120

Hi,

I'm curious about these drives, I have some doubts about the quality of them.
I own two of them wich I ran in RAID 0, and over the year I have been using them they have crashed 3 times, now the last time one of them is completly dead. The time in action was 5779 hours, cold starts 693, total read 5.16TB, total write 1.85TB, Firmware 1.3.2. Never filled them up more than 65%.

After experiencing these crashes and having spent some time reading about others who had their Force GT drives die multiple times for them I dont really want to rely on this particular SSD anymore. I'm going to replace the broken one tomorrow, and I really dont want to take any chances.

What is the difference between Force GT and the Neutron GTX, is it better quality MLC in the Neutron that makes it last longer (5-years warranty compared to the Force GT 3-years)?

Well, the Neutron has a significantly lower write speed (315 MB/s against the GTs 555), and is made for multi-multi tasking, it supports complex data intenisve work, such as video editing and large scale editing. But id maybee go for Neutron because of the extremely high random IOPS performance that gives you the almost instanteous response you need for a high end gaming rig.

I'm looking at thei flagship model Neutron GTX, it have higher write speed than the normal Neutron.

yep, i thought i wrote Neutron GTX but seems like i didn't. But anyhow the neutron GTX has 315 write speed. Now im not any Raid expert, but shouldnt it make trouble if run a Raid 0 with discs with different write speed? On me it sounds like it would. But once again,im not a Raid expert.

I'm not going to raid any drives from Corsair anymore, I had a chat with Webhallen while I went to them to replace the Force GT 120, they adviced me to get Samsung 840 Pro instead because it had 0.3% RMA percentage, together with Intel it was the lowest percentage of RMA's. I trust the numbers from Webhallen because they are the reseller with the highest volumes in Sweden on these particular items. I dont need a reply from Corsair anymore since I'm going to replace the Corsair SSD's for the Samsung SSD's.
