Minnes Problem med ABIT VT7

I bought a brand new VT7-Motherboard last week and also a recomended DDR-RAM ( Kingston ValueR. PC3200 DDR-DIMM 512MB 64MX64,Non-ECC,400MHz,184-pin,CL3(3-3-3)) but when inserting this memory in slot1 (DIMM1) the Motherboard dosent post? but when changing to DIMM2 it post and runs for a time but then it hangs?!
When the computer hangs and i try to rebot, i have to change dimm slot for it to post. I tried setting it to Dual and Singel channel in the BIOS settings but the result is the same. I'vs also tried to change to 2 256mb dimms, then i can get the computer started and running with one working memory slot, but i need to have both of them to get it started. I've tried all combinations 1-2 1-3 1-4 2 -3 2-4 ect
With some of the combinations the computer beeps constantly and won't post
Is this a known problem? Do you have a new BIOS or how can i solve this problem?
It have to be possible to run with one dimm.
