Problem med apache efter chroot

Har chrootat apache efter guiden på gentoo-wiki: http://gentoo-wiki.com/Apache_chroot:_the_mod_security_way
Det verkar fungera bra förutom att det inte blir någon .pid fil.

Efter jag stoppar apache får jag:
httpd (no pid file) not running
