Hi again, Yes I've been succesful turning it on again. Although it seems like the new Shield doesnt take charging like it should. I'm in progress of trying out different cables and chargers to see if the problem is there or in the Shield.

Thank you for answering

Hey SJ6, just want to make sure everything is OK with your tablet? If you're still experiencing issues I'd recommend chatting with our customer service team. They'll be able to assist further.

Evening

Earlier today I bought 2x Gigabyte 980 Ti Gaming G1 cards.
As I got home and started to fiddle around with overclocking them I noticed that the core voltage of the 2 cards is somewhat unstable, even up to the point that raising the core voltage is completely ignored by one card.
After performing some google-fu it became apparent that this issue has been around for about a year already, and also includes the above mentioned card.

At the moment the simplest solution seems to be to overclock the cards separately, setting one card to 15-50 Mhz lower than the frequency you're aiming for. This will somewhat even out the core voltage, but it's far from perfect and requires some trial & error.

I can only assume that you guys are aware of this issue, thus I'm wondering if there will be a solution presented soon, or are you completely ignoring it?

This thread contains a lot of useful information: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1837361

Thank you in advance!

Thanks for letting me know about this Suzaku. I'll forward it to the right team.

Are you gonna use the 680 as a PhysX card? because you can't run it with the 980's in SLI.

Yeah. What are you aiming to do with the 680?

Hi

Got my new shield tabley through the recall program. Now my new tablet wont start! Is it possible that the kill switch can kill the wrong tablet?

No this shouldn't be happening. Have you ever been successful in turning on your new tablet? Or has it been like this since you got it?

Hi Luke!

When will you start selling your SLI bridges in the EU ?

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/sli/bridges

I shall ask internally. But as far as I'm aware - there are no plans.

Av Nvidia_Luke

Hey guys, if you have a question, suggestion or any type of feedback can you send it over to me in English? I can translate but it's not perfect and I really don't want to miss any important details!!!

Sorry for the hassle.

@Noor: I got the Shield today. No extra fees or so.

But I have another problem. I got the US plug instead of the EU one. I talked to Amazon about it and apparently they just don't care where you are from, they just send the US plug to anyone. Pretty bad if you ask me. Especially as there is a system in place to just swap the plug part. They should at least have some kind of warning. On the positive side tho, I got a partial refund while pointing out this to them.

Now I need to try finding an suitable adapter. Maybe Nvidia can help me to get a EU plug, but I don't know how to issue such a request.

This might be a silly question, but which Amazon did you order from? Was it from them directly? Or was it from a marketplace seller?

Av Nvidia_Luke

We are actively working with the community to get to the bottom of the issue and are working on a fix.

Totally! I'll make sure to sticky any major topics/announcements. Cheers for the feedback Last Ninja.

Im looking for an sli or crossfire setup for Valve VR when it arrives. Im concerned about the gpu per eye scaling on the 980 ti. I read that Nvidia will only be able to scale with 50% of power when using a gpu per screen on VR. Is there any news to this or updated info about the matter?

I waiting on AMD Fiji since ATI said they will be able to scale better on this matter. How do Nvidia aim to make VR plesant?

Information on what we are doing with VR can be found here: https://developer.nvidia.com/virtual-reality-development

  • VR SLI provides increased performance for virtual reality apps where multiple GPUs can be assigned a specific eye to dramatically accelerate stereo rendering. With the GPU affinity API, VR SLI allows scaling for systems with >2 GPUs.

  • Multi-Res Shading is an innovative new rendering technique for VR whereby each part of an image is rendered at a resolution that better matches the pixel density of the warped image. Multi-Res Shading uses Maxwell’s multi-projection architecture to render multiple scaled viewports in a single pass, delivering substantial performance improvements.

  • Context Priority provides headset developers with control over GPU scheduling to support advanced virtual reality features such as asynchronous time warp, which cuts latency and quickly adjusts images as gamers move their heads, without the need to re-render a new frame.

  • With Direct Mode, the NVIDIA driver treats VR headsets as head mounted displays accessible only to VR applications, rather than a normal Windows monitor that your desktop shows up on, providing better plug and play support and compatibility for the VR headset.

  • Front Buffer Rendering enables the GPU to render directly to the front buffer to reduce latency.

What do you think?

Av Nvidia_Luke

This will most likely vary from card-to-card. So best to ask AVGA, MSI, ASUS etc separately.

Hello Luke.

I've not had much luck finding out when DSR + SLI will be enabled on Gsync monitors. Checked with ManuelG on Guru3D but he hasn't answered. Do you know the status of this problem?

I don't have any update right now but I'll ask internally and see what I can find out for you.

Hello Luke!

I would like you to shed some light onto this subject. Linux is a growing platform for gaming and is growing faster than ever because of projects like Steam on Linux and I would like to hear more about your work on the Linux platform to help it grow.

"Geforce Experience" is one feature that made me love my GTX 980 purchase even more because of the simplicity to work with recordings and this is one of those things that I would greatly miss by going to a Linux only based system (dual booting is "fine", but it's frustrating to have to jump between installations just because some feature is missing on the other OS).

Will you release Geforce Experience for Linux? And if you do, how is the progress for it? As in, how far may the update have come on the way?

I'll certainly raise you suggestions with the GFE team. Although I can't confirm future GFE features/OS support right now. Sorry!

Hi

I don't seems to find the info about 10bit color output on the Nvidia website?
A quick search on the Nivida website I only find articles form 2011 and a technical data sheet updated in 2013.

Does all the Nivida cards support 10bit output or is it still Quadro card exclusive?

According to this article https://luminous-landscape.com/finally-here-10-bit-lcd-graphi...
Radeon cars seems to have it since 4870 in 2010.

I hope you can shine some light in the subject.

Does the info below answer your question Heatware?

Hi! Iam streaming games. Alot.. But there is always this problems that u either have to run with a secondary pc or put a heavy duty on ur cpu.

I know you guys already tweaked around with nvec? But isnt it better since you are doing graphics cards.. To make a card that actually process and does everything. Like a capture card from avermedia. I know avermedia still is using cpu power. But i mean something like an external device that u connect to your nvidia card. It takes the info, calculates and process and sends by itself from you homenetwork to the twitch cloud. It shouldnt be that hard since you already progressed alot with nvec. Then you can also take this portable card to your friends, computer meetings and such. Set it up, connect it and voila.

I know this should probably be an AQ section but anyhow.

Do you use ShadowPlay to stream odesjord?

As you've probably seen in my other posts - I can't talk about any future products/features but am always interested in hearing feedback and suggestions!

I've been using Shadowplay ever since it got released. Before shadowplay was a thing I was swapping between Fraps and Dxtory, Fraps for lossless RGB and high framerate footage and dxtory for just ordinary gameplay. Both had a pretty big performance hit and when I tried out shadowplay it was like night and day. Barely no performance hit at all, at a high bitrate (basically lossless if you increase it to almost maximum) and high framerate, with low size output files.

There's a few features missing from Shadowplay though, mainly from Dxtory which has a lot of different settings for audio. You were able to create multiple audio sources in Dxtory making it easy to distinguish and edit in-game sound, your microphone and Teamspeak/mumble, all separetely.

This is probably the most wanted feature right now for Shadowplay and would make it the go to recording software (which it essentially already is).

Thanks.

This is great feedback and I will pass it on to the ShadowPlay team right now! I'm sure there'll be interested in suggestions so feel free to send more over.

I can't comment on future product/feature launches I'm afraid. Sorry.

Hi Luke and welcome to SweC!

Is there any chance we will see 2nd gen Maxwell in low end/mainstream graphics cards? (Perhaps a GTX 950 / 930?)
...Reason for asking is to quench the hunger of all people with small mITX systems that want a more complete DX12 and better acceleration for HEVC & other video codecs.

Since there are 2 kind of trends to go both to more performance, and the other trend to go lighter and smaller i wonder if you maybe have plans to use your laptop-GPU's to accelerate Desktops with limited headroom as well. I've already seen that in systems like Alienware Alpha.
Why not offer it to other mITX and thinITX owners too?
Maxwells power efficiency deserves to be utilised for the most power restricted systems as well

PS. GTX750 /750Ti are first gen maxwell.

Thanks Lastninja. Interesting question, but I cannot comment on any future product launches, sorry!
