Noise when downmixing AC3 on DM500HD, DM800HD & 7020HD
Hi, I have tested the following on three original Dreamboxes.
They all have the same problem:
If I watch a channel with a AC3 audio track and use the "downmixing" then I get a distorted noise from the left speaker.
If I turn off the downmixing and send the AC3 as it is then it works fine, and regular MPEG audio tracks also works fine.
The noise is coming only from the left speaker, if I select to output only to the right channel then the noise disappears.
The 500HD is connected via HDMI to a Sony KDL-40D3550 LCD TV
The 800HD is connected via HDMI to a Harman Kardon Receiver & then a Panasonic ST60 Plasma TV
The 7020HD is connected via HDMI to a Panasonic TH-37PX80 Plasma TV
The 7020HD is also connected via optical toslink to an external receiver.
The noise is there if I have downmixing enabled.
But if I switch off downmixing so the receiver does the decoding of the AC3 signal then the audio is perfect.
On the 7020HD I was running firmware 3.2.3 then upgraded to 4.1.0
On the 500HD I was running firmware 3.2.3 then upgraded to Open Pli v4.0 20140704
The issue is exactly the same in these different firmwares.
