its only dangerous if you're using a bad heatsink cooler for it..
the intel burn-in test is meant to check for stability of your pc, as well as to warm up the thermalpaste on the cpu to give you the optimum temperature you get out of your cooling at a quicker rate, instead of having to wait for a month to see what ure optimum temperatures are..

So in theory, no, its not dangerous. like i mentioned earlier it can be if you have a crappy cooling system for it
