Dell Thunderbolt Dock - TB15 on Temporary Engineering Hold
Key details Failure Symptom: Dell Thunderbolt Dock loses connection or connects intermittently.
Suspected Root Cause: Interference between system WiFi signal and the Thunderbolt controller crystal on the Dell Thunderbolt Dock.
Containment: ODM will hold all Dell Thunderbolt Dock orders. All inventory in regional hubs will be re-worked.
Resolution: Shielding is being added to the Thunderbolt controller crystal on the dock to prevent connection loss.
Systems Impacted: XPS 13, XPS 15, Precision 5510 (when workstation has direct contact with the Dell Thunderbolt Dock).
Customer Impact: Customers experiencing this issue should contact Dell tech support.
Recovery date: Date to lift the Engineering hold is TBD. Re-work schedule is under review with engineering.
