New in Sweden – Need Help Choosing a TV and a computer monitor

Hej! I recently moved to Sweden (Uppsala specifically) and I’m looking to buy a 50-55” TV, mainly for playing PS5 (mostly single player story driven games) and watching movies/TV shows. I’m looking for a recently produced QLED (or above) with a fast and smooth interface that will remain reliable for a bit, in order to not have to change it too soon.

I noticed that TV models and names here are quite different from my home country, and prices seem to be higher too. My budget is around 6000-8000 SEK, and I’m wondering:

- Which models would you recommend within this budget?
- Is it better to wait for seasonal offers (like upcoming sales)?
- Any specific stores or websites where I could find good deals?

Here are some models I found so far but not knowing much about TVs i cannot wrap my head around what would be the best:

I am also in need of a computer monitor to connect my pc. I would use it only for work related purposes so it doesn't need to have high specs. I would prefer not paying too much for it (1500/2000 sek) but, considering that I work with many windows at the same time, a decently big screen size would definitely be a plus.

Would love to hear your thoughts! Tack! 😊

Hej,

Welcome to Sweden and SweClockers! Uppsala is a nice town, hope you'll like it!

By far, the Hisense 55U7KQ will give you most bang for your buck! It's a Mini-LED and stands out compared to the other models you've listed. The rest of the pack are all "OK" but all are entry-level 4K TVs.
"Not great, not terrible"

Rtings review of 55U7KQ:

Your budget for a monitor is not very high and to find something bigger than 27" 1440p would be difficult. You could always try your luck on the marketplace here on SweC (Marknad) but try to use Prisjakt to look for good deals.

Below is a link to a filter for 29"-34" inch models up to 2500kr range:

Difficult to find good models here but a 29" 1440p LG29WP60G for approx 2200kr (Proshop, known good dealar)if you could stretch your budget slightly looks like a good option:

Is it better to wait for seasonal offers (like upcoming sales)?
Different sales comes and goes all the time. In general, if you're looking for the 2025 TV-models they will be released in the springtime and hit their first sales sometime in the autumn close to Black Friday. This cycle has been true since the beginning fo time

For the 2024-models (and what's left of 2023 TVs) are already discounted but from time to time, you will see various sale as well. I think the Hisense model is already as discounted as it going to get but if you're in the market for an LG OLED for example, then it could be worth holding out for a better deal.

Good luck, hopefully you can find a few good options to consider. Feel free to revert back with any questions and / or what you finally purchased!

Sorry for the late reply, and thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it! I took some time to revisit the available TVs and deals, and since Elgiganten's TV Week started, I’ve come across some new discounts. Plus, I’ve been considering slightly increasing my budget, which has allowed me to put together an updated list of TVs that might be worth buying. I’d love to get your opinion on them, and if you’ve come across any better deals on other websites, I’d really appreciate your advice!

Do you still think that the Hisense is the best out of the bunch? Since this will be my first TV, I’m a bit hesitant about making a bad purchase. That’s why I’d really appreciate your input on my list, and if you’ve spotted any better deals elsewhere, I’d love to hear about them!

Thanks again for the help, have a good day

Hi again,

In short, yes. The Hisense is still the best of the bunch of the TVs you have listed! The rest are basically entry level models. Try to keep away from 50" inch TVs, these panels are generally of lower quality vs 55".

Regarding the OS, it's easy to purchase a stand alone separate solution like Google TV or Apple TV if preferred so I wouldn't make that a complete dealbreaker but that's only my opinion of course

Here's an overview of LG 2024 lineup from FlatPanelsHD:
https://www.flatpanelshd.com/article.php?subaction=showfull&i...

It's ranked from top to bottom, so the best models are on top etc.

If you're willing to spend a little more and just shy of <10000kr, you can get a 55" top of the line TV meaning an OLED!

Right now and on the linked post from myself below, LG has an LG 55" OLED B4 on offer which is far superior any of the listed models including the Hisense, at least for overall picture quality (Maybe not pure brightness!)

#20772886

If you're having issues translating the post it says that you can purchase an 55" B4 directly from LG for
9 693,18 kr if you:

1) Create an LG-membership account (free)
2) Uses the discount code BENI25_ALLALG in the "Kuponger" field in the shopping cart.

Good luck!

Hey!

Thanks a lot for the help, really appreciate it! In the end, I went with the LG B4, seemed like the best choice for the price, especially because it is an OLED. Excited to set it up as soon as i get it!

Thanks again for the help and for showing me the offer! 😊

@Andrax96: Excellent choice, running an 77" LG OLED C3 myself and once you go OLED, it's hard to look back! Feel free to revert here later with any first impressions etc. 🥳
