Antec P183 rev 2

Apparently an updated version of the P183 called P183 rev 2 exists (source: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=57487), but I can't find any information about it at antec.com. Will this revision of the case replace the existing “rev 1” of the P183? When can we expect the rev 2 version to be available in Sweden?

bump

I would really like to know an ETA on those. I contacted Dustinhome and Komplett, but they had no idea when rev2 would arrive. They didn't even know a rev2 was on the way.

Please check the forum again, there is a respsonse from antec saysin;

"I just checked with our product development team and we are glad to see that the new versions with the CPU cutout is now available! These should be available on the P183, P193 and Mini P180 soon if it is not out there already."

Yeah, i saw that in the forum thread on silentpcreview.com. But i was under the impression that it was mostly a "non-european" forum. It wouldn't be the first time we have to wait longer to get the shiny stuff here then they have to do in the US for example

Hence my bump on the original post since he specifically asked about when they would be released in Sweden (though personally Denmark would be interresting too..)

But anywho: Thanks for the info, and i'll keep my eyes open to see if the rev2 pops up anywhere. Hopefully before the FERMI cards arrive.

I'm looking to buy a P183 rev 2 case....

And from what I've understood Antec has shipped the rev 2 since mid december to various resellers.

Today I was in contact with support from a Swedish reseller: www.Misco.se ...they have a bunch of P183 in stock but they have no clue if they are original or rev 2 ones.

Is there some sort of serial number / date or anything on the box that they can use to identify if they actually got the rev 2 in stock or not ?

Pokker,
There are no serial numbers on the boxes. But I believe if you have a SSD compatible sticker on the box then you have the right one.

Today i got my P183 case, and i was happy to see that the box had the SSD sticker on it. I was really dissapointed though when i opened the case and noticed the lack of a cutout...

So the box having a SSD sticker obviously dont mean you have the right one

I was also a little confused on how "stiff" the door felt, it was fine turning it 180 degrees, but to turn it another 90 so that its turned 270 degrees i had to really push it, feeling like it was going to break, the plastic doesn't feel very strong around that area.

So my first impression of the case wasn't that very good, hope building in it will be a better experience

the cablemanegement in my P182 was the worst part so if they didnt do anything special to the P183 your in for a treat

Now after i've built in it i think there are both ups and downs with the cablemanagement, routing the cables around the back and keeping it nice and tidy wasn't very hard, but trying to close the side door afterwards was a real pain in the rear end.

A good case, even though it has a few really irritating flaws that could have been easily fixed.

Ye i hade some problems with that to and to mount my fancontroller...since the 3.5" is hidden away in a metalbox.
