”I bought this monitor with the intent of using it across multiple platforms, Work, PC Gaming, Xbox One X. Here is my take, keep in mind I cant geek out on low level specs, but think I can add some value in this review.
Pros
-Color is actually really good. Compared it next to my 60in LED screen and this one is actually better in my opinion
-My PC has a Titan X GPU and Im running 2560x1440 at 144hZ over DP and it works great.
-Curved screen is nice. I was sold on curved screens before, but I do think it offers some level on immersion.
-Speakers are actually ok. Lets be honest, built in speakers are usually terrible, but these are alright. I wouldn't say buy based on the quality of them though
-MULTIPLE PORTS FOR DISPLAYS! Most all gaming monitors now seem to be coming out with only a DP and HDMI port. Makes it very difficult to scale. I use HDMI to my Xbox One X, DP to PC, and mini display to my surface book.
-Freesync is detected on Xbox One X
-Monitor stand is solid and doenst take up too much room in my opinion.
-Great range of motion for adjustment. Swivel, tilt, and height.
Cons:
- HDR is pretty bad honestly. I turned it on with my Xbox One X and though some blacks pop a little better, it made it seem like Im running on a 24hz monitor as there would be a black tail on most objects moving quickly. This was EASY to notice, was not being picky. I run it with PC RGB on the xbox and honestly it looks great, you dont need HDR with that enabled
-This monitor wont do 120hz @1440P with the Xbox One X for some reason. No idea why. Following up with Xbox to confirm, I'm assuming this monitor wont scale down to 120
Xbox. Xbox will only play it at 60HZ, or will do 120HZ at 1080P... makes no sense.
My Final verdict, this is a fantastic monitor for the price. My only problem here is the 120hz at 1440P issue with Xbox honestly. I feel like if Im going to be limited to 60hz, I should just get a 4K monitor. Also, with freesync 2 coming out, was debating waiting for a monitor that does FS2. I dont refresh often so is a thought. Im on the fence on whether I will return this based on that, however, there are a ton of positives which are really making me think about the decision. It is a great all around monitor which is very hard to do when scaling all the environments I mentioned. If I can resolve the 120HZ issue I would no question keep this.
