X99 Deluxe

I've got an Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard and i want to run two GTX980TI in SLI. According to the motherboard manual the graphics cards should be plaed in the first and third PCIe slot for maximum bandwidth. The problem is that i've planned to use a third card (a GTX680), where should this card be placed for maximum performance (16x)? I do need the benefits of 16x.

Are you gonna use the 680 as a PhysX card? because you can't run it with the 980's in SLI.

Yeah. What are you aiming to do with the 680?

Every single(except the smaller) PCIE slot on your motherboard is PCIE 3.0 16x, so I would recommend you to put the GTX 680 as far from the nearest GTX 980 ti as possible.
