We've seen power supplies with a PFC (power factor correction) of 0.99.
Is a PFC of 1.0 possible?

I think that a PFC of 1 is never possible within the near future, unless everything in a computer becomes purely reisistive suddenly. But I think 0.99 PFC is good enough when it comes to PSUs.

Simple answer - No!
A PF of 0.99 is a really really good result.

Everything higher than 0.96 is really OK.
