Får inte igång trådlöst igen, Ubuntu

Hej!

Av misstag så klickade jag på "Inaktivera trådlöst" på nätvärkshanteraren i Ubuntu netbook remix och markerrutan blev sedan grå och går ej att kryssa för igen

Sitter nu på kabel som igentligen ska vara i den stationära datorn.

Frågan är om några av er sweclockare kan veta svaret på mitt problem med att det inte går att aktivera trådlöst igen och har sökt på andra trådar men ej funnit svaret

När jag skriver "ifconfig -a" hittar den wlan0 och när jag skriver "lshw -class network" står det att det är disabled.

Är absolut inget Linux pro så svara gärna så "Barnpedagogiskt" det går tack

Skulle vara jätte tacksam för svar.

Jag behärskar inte Ubuntu, men i brist på annat skulle du ju kunna testa:

Då kommer bara "Ignoring unknown interface wlan0=wlan0" upp

Får du något gensvar på det? Det känns som att du dock borde få det att funka i nm-applet, och inte manuellt i terminalen - jag vet inte hur nm-applet hanterar anslutningen om den inte står som "värd" för uppkopplingen?

Nej tyvärr har jag ingen knapp till trådlöst och fn+f2 funkar inte. Måste vara olika på olika märken... sitter på en Packard Bell Dot :/ Så knapp e det icke. Tack för tipset att försöka iaf.

Vad säger den om du skriver "sudo iwconfig"?

Om du får upp wlan0 så skulle du kunna testa
sudo iwlist scan

Om det fungerar och du hittar din accesspunkt där så borde du kunna associera med den;
iwconfig wlan0 essid <din ap>

Om du använder wpa så kan du använda wpa_supplicant för att fullborda den krypterade associationen, och isåfall måste du skapa en config-fil för anslutningen. Det är lite pill, som kanske inte är så intressant i nuläget. Men om du vill göra på det här sättet så finns det nog exempel både lokalt och på nätet. Eller fråga här så kan vi kanske hjälpa till. Någon annan kryptering än wpa vet jag inte hur man hanterar.

Om det är ett öppet nät (du kan kanske temporärt göra det öppet för att testa) eller om du har fixat så du kan ansluta till ett skyddat nät så kan du använda dhcpcd för att begära en ipadress;
dhcpcd wlan0

Testa att pinga någonting för att se att det fungerar. Du kan också efter olika moment kolla i routerns (antar att du har en trådlös router) log för att samla ledtrådar.

Jag kör Arch Linux och det här har fungerat för mig. Nu använder jag net-profiles/netcfg för att ansluta till olika trådlösa nätverk.

Jag har rautern på öppet-nät och när jag scanar så står det lo

Testade pinga den stationära datorn och servern men det gick inte tyvärr.. Tack för hjälpen iaf. Kommer nog lämna in neetboken till någon kunnig linux meckare. För det går värkligen inte hur jag en gör

Ditt trådlösa kort heter ath0, och inte wlan0 som jag antog i mitt förra svar. Testade du med ath0 istället?

$ ifconfig ath0 up ... $ dhcpcd ath0

Jag fick svar på båda men den hittar fortfarande inte det trådlösa nätvärket..... När jag skriver sudo ifconfig ath0 up så händer ingenting och när jag skriver det andra står det att det redan körs :-S nm-applet vet jag inte vad det är :$ (Bag over my head) Tack iaf.

Sist jag hade ett liknande problem löste det sig genom att bara starta om nätverket.

$ sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart

Kan väl vara värt ett försök i varje fall.
