Tangent och mus problem efter kompilering av ny kärna

Jag har precis kompilerat kärnan, till 2.4.21, och när jag startar X så tar det väldigt lång tid, och varken musen eller tangenbordet funkar, och när jag kör /dev/mouse, så står det nåt om core devices not initialized.
