How to best/properly clean the MM200 mousepad?

I've got the Extended Edition variant and I'm curious as to how exactly I'm supposed to clean this thing. Unlike the large Razer variants, I can't exactly throw this thing into the dishwasher and call it a day. In the past I've always just used my vacuum cleaner but something tells me that doing so deteriorates the lifespan of the mousepad.

So, how do I go about doing so?

Rinse? As in hold it under the tap?

Is that possible? For real? How about the layer underneath the mousepad? It won't get worse? And it can handle the warmth, much less the water itself? How about drying, should I let it dry off itself naturally or would a hair dryer work well?

Alright then. A bit wary of this method but I'll try it. Here's hoping if it breaks I'll get some support from you guys at Corsair. = )
