Vi får också veta de uppgraderingar som gjorts på Conroe jämfört med den tidigare processorkärnan Yonah, som heter Core Solo eller Core Duo. Conroe har exempelvis dubbelt så snabb exevering av 128-bitars SIMD-instruktioner, optimerad minneshantering och prefetch samt den delade nivå 2-cachen som Conroe har på samtliga modeller. Nivå 2-cachen har också en avancerad lastbalansering beroende på vilken kärna som används för tillfället. Ett citat från artikeln:

..it has been noted many times that they are direct descendants of the 6-gen core of Intel processors (P6), which had been designed prior to Pentium Pro and had lived to Pentium III.
