Corsair AX760i shutting down and showing wrong CPU temp.

I have a big problem with my AX760i! Without warning and reason the PSU just shuts down like you just pulled the power cord from the socket. Sometimes the computer works like clockwork for 10 hours or more, and sometimes it shuts down after 5 minutes. The only way to get it going when this happens is to unplug the power cord for 5 minutes, otherwise it refuses to start. This can happen at any time, during surfing, during game play and when im doing nothing at all. l I found on Corsair's own forums that more people had problems and describes exactly the same as me. The computer worked fine before I replaced the power supply to this one.
I have also observed that the temperature in the newest Link 2 software shows 15-20 degrees more CPU temp than the motherboard's own software displays and the value that is in the BIOS. Perhaps this is why the PSU just shuts down because off wrong values. Right now i am doing a test with the Link cable disconnected from the PSU and i haven't had any strange shut downs at all in 12 hours now. Yesterday I had 3 shut downs with the cable connected. Maybe just a coincidence.
Of course, I checked all the cables and also replaced the power cord to a new one. It only uses 300-350 watts max since I only have one video card and I doesn't overclock anything and all the temps are fine! 35-40 degrees and cpu temp when i am playing 50-70.
I think that the PSU turns off to protect itself when it thinks that a temperature is too high or some other values, which they are not, but that's a big guess.
Most likely I will return it to the place of purchase to obtain a new functional one unless someone has another suggestion?

Heya!

Do you anyone nearby with an extra PSU or maybe a nother pc to try your current PSU in?
Before returning it to the store I would suguest you to do one of the above to be 100% sure that none of the other components are faulty.

If the issue still presists then hand it in, dont forget to bring the recite
Good luck!

No it is the PSU that is faulty! I am 100% sure now. So I will return it. Hope the new one works. Sigh

What is your CPU temperature according to CoreTemp? I'd also suggest running Prime95 In Place Large FFTs for 30-45 mins to check your peak CPU temperature.

I got the 760i replaced and now it works great! The only thing im not so happy with is the newest link software. You cant use it with ASUS AIsuit. Strange warning messages about temp and voltages. I had to downgrade to link v2.2. I hope Corsair will fix this in the next version.

Thanks for the info, I'll pass this along to engineering.

Can you let me know which OS version you're using, and what version of the software you're using too please. Perhaps a link to the software package itself.

Thanks!

Im using:
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 with all windows updates installed.
Newest ASUS AIsuite V2.01.01: http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=MAXIMUS+V+EXTREME&p=1&s=39
Corsair Link v2.2.0
ASUS GPU Tweak Version 2.2.0.1: http://www.asus.se/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA_Series/ENGTX570_DCII2DIS1280MD5/#download
I have no other temp or voltage-reading software installed.

The newest Corsair Link software v2.3.4816 downloaded from corsairs homepage doesn't work together with AIsuit and as you can see on Corsairs forum i'm not the only one getting strange warning messages running this combination.
