Den här förklaringen har jag fått, och den kan säkert vara fel då jag inte uppfattade allt och beroende på det specifika avtalet med Microsoft som olika instutitioner har och kan vara hur det fungerade förr:
Du kan under tiden du är inskriven bla bla hämta hem hur mycket du vill för test syften. Du får även en licensnyckel. Denna nyckel gäller även efter att du slutat plugga, dvs windows kommer inte avaktiveras. Däremot måste produkten aktiveras innan du är utskriven. När den väl är aktiverad kan du inte installera om den utan en ny nyckel som du alltså inte får eftersom du fått en redan.
"When you are no longer taking credit courses in the member school, you may no longer obtain MSDNAA software. However, you may continue to use previously installed products on your computer, provided you continue to follow MSDNAA program guidelines."

"Q: Can I install my software on two computers at once?
A: Yes, as long as you are the owner of both computers and both are being used for instructional purposes. NOTE: If you require another key for a product you must contact the PA (program administrator) at your school."
"Q: I have a new computer now, how can I re-install my software?
A: You are allowed to install the software more than once based at the discretion of the program administrator and the software distribution method chosen (i.e. Download, Cd Check Out). "
"Q: Does the license (or "key") permanently unlock the software?
A: No - the key allows you to install the software once. If you need to re-install the software, you will need to contact the PA (Program Administrator) at your school."
