Welcome again guys and girls to another update

So the other day I moved over my PC parts from the TJ08-E case to the FT03, and wanted to share with you the progress that I had made! I am using the stock cables for now and will progressively shorten and resleeve the old cables whenever I find the free time. This rig is still air cooled for now until I get in the water cooling parts.

So without further delay, here are the photos that I took during the rebuilding process.

I would also like to note that I have not completed the lighting in this case. This too will be completed as I am shortening the PSU cables.

So that is it from me guys, I hope you liked the update! And as always, stay tuned for coming future updates

With kind regards,
Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen

Hello there! Here comes another update!

In this update I would like to just thank Inet for deeming my project worthy of sponsoring 2x Be Quiet 80mm PWM fans. Two fans may not sound like much, but at 200SEK each, they are nearly double the price of a regular 120mm fan! I have to comment on Be Quiet and their build quality regarding these fans. They are astounding!! They feel solid to the touch, and come with 2 mounting options. Option 1 using just regular screws and option 2 using vibration dampening plastic pins to hold the fan into place.

So thank you Inet. I am really looking forward to working with these fans!

By the way, I have a mini text update for you
I am getting my panels milled this Wednesday, and hoping to get them painted over the weekend.
All of the water cooling parts are being shipped mid this week, and I can expect them at the start of next week.
The 2nd GPU has come in.
I have 2 more sponsor announcements when I receive sponsored parts.

I cannot wait!!

Justin's 1st attempt at video editing

Hello everyone! I wanted to try my hand at some video editing as this is something that I wish to use more in the future. I would like to present to you my first edited video of my trip out to the CNC mill for this FT03 project!

What do you think, something that I should continue with, or just leave editing the hell alone?
Kind regards,
Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen

Lovely hump you got on your ft03, I tried that on the mini last year (but in a much more ghetto way).

SFX power supply made me abandon that one though, still havent found a good replacement case

Welcome again to another update

My my my, have I been a buy bee or what this last week!! I have some great surprises for you coming over the following days!

This update is to announce 3 new sponsors to this project. EK Waterblocks, Silverstone and Caseking.de. These companies have provided my project with everything else that I need to get this PC finished, and look spectacular in the process! I would like to thank you all for believing in my work!

Silverstone provided me with a Silverstone Strider ST85F-P 850w full modular PSU. I wanted the silverstone PSU because of it's simple cabling from the PSU to the motherboard. No split cables here as compared to any other brand PSU on the market. They also provided all black screws, and the PP05 short cable kit. I chose not to use this cable kit though as the coloured cables could be seen through the sleeving, making the cabling behind the motherboard all kind of hippy.

Caseking.de agreed to sponsor my project with the PP05-E all black cabled flexible short cable kit, and 3 bottles of Mayhems Pastel Raspberry Purple coolant.

EK Waterblocks provided the FT03 with all that was needed to be able to fill the build with coolant! This included 2xFC780 Nickle plated full cover blocks, 2x black backplates, 1x 110ml reservoir, and all the fittings required to join it all up.

Over the next few updates you will see how I put these thing to use

Thank you for reading, and see you at the next update!
Kind regards,
Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen

I used my reciprocating saw to cut open the chassis and then attached a Lian Li D8000-1 with some sticky stuff and pop rivets, you can see the wifi-antenna connectors too on that picture

Looking forward for your next, watery, update !

Welcome again to another update

Well well well, with the making of this update the project is almost at an end. In this update, I will be installing the water cooling and filling the loop. This entire process took 2 days for me to complete, as I wanted to get it perfect - and I had some small modding to do along the way.

I had to drill holes into the top of the FT03 case so that I could route the tubing through the roof, drill matching holes onto the custom top plate which would dress up the top. I cut another plate that sits just above the motherboard IO to further clean up the look.

I painted the SSD in black so that it blends with the back panel.

I cleaned up the PSU by painting all of the blue connectors black, then removed all of the stickers so that it doesn't stick out. Then I created custom length cables from the PP05-E Short Cable Kit which was sponsored.

There may be some other things that I have missed which you might see in the photos.

So sit back, relax, and please enjoy!

Lucky last photo shows after I had filled it, and tried to get the air from the top of the radiator. I have to warn anyone who is considering doing a loop like this where the pump sits higher than the reservoir... It is not for the faint of heart! I had to hold my case and rotate it all kinds of stupid ways to get the water into the pump so it was primed, and then turn on the pump the get the water circulating. There had to be minimal air inside the radiator so that the return from radiator the GPU would act as a suction. Any air bubbles here would make the water flow noisy.

I am happy to report though that there was not a single leak though.

So with this photo bomb over, I am very happy to inform that I have completed some of the finishing touches on this project. One last update will be released tomorrow, and then the final photos will appear hopefully before the end of the week!
So please stay tuned

Kind regards,
Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen

Hello and welcome to the last update before the final pictures!

In this update I would just like to show the installation of the LED strips which sit on the front panel, which light up the hexagons and Silverstone logo found on the case.

I soldered together the LED strips so that they formed a circle around the hexagon group. After trying them out, I was very pleased with the results, except for the amount of light that leaked from underneath the front plate to the sides. It was very noticeable from the sides especially.

I came upon the idea then to use a black rubber seal used to insulate doors and windows from cold air seeping in. This worked perfectly, and also provided an excellent rubber buffer between the front plate, and the case itself. My daughter liked to lean against it and pick at the Silverstone logo while it was lit up

The LED strips and panel can easily be disconnected from the main power when I need to get inside. So, without further delay, here come the photos!

Thank you once again for reading my latest update, and hope to see you when I post the final photos!

Best regards,
Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen

Hello and welcome to the grand finale of this project! The final photo shoot has been completed, and a massive photo-bomb is being dropped right now!! Are you ready??

I would personally like to thank all of you guys who have followed this project, and I hope that this project met or exceeded your expectations. I personally can say that I am very happy with the end result, and am extremely pleased with the performance of all combined components! With this said, my attention will turn back to the TJ07 project when I get in the CPU for that project, and I will start planning for my next upcoming project, which will feature a Limited Edition Silverstone Fortress FT02 ^^

I will also be doing a video tour my FT03 project, and if time permits do a montage Also, I might need your help with naming this beast. How does "Monolith" sound? What is your suggestion?

Please let me know what you think of this project, and what you would like to see in the FT02 project

With best regards,
Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
