Tele2 wifi hub c2 subscription: 250/50

Hi,

I am just new here in Sweden. I am using the Tele2 wifi hub c2 subscription: 250/50 that I think the association subscribes.
I am wondering, if I change wifi hub c2 subscription to bridge mode, will I get an public IP address on my own router?
("Public" IP address: global IP address that is reachable from the internet)

- If the answer is yes, where can I get my account info to fill in my own router to dial PPPoe?
- If the answer is no, then I guess I don't have to use the bridge mode. After C2, I am able to connect to a AC with setting: Dynamic IP from DHCP, then connect to several APs. Right? Then just use FRP or ZeroTier to have me the access from outside?

Thank you!

Yes

You don't. It's DHCP from the ISP.

Spela Swemantle! Du vet att du vill.

Ibland har jag fel, men då är det någon annans fel.

What are you trying to achieve?

It's most likely possible to put the router into bridge mode. You can probably even do it yourself. The login to the router is on a sticker on the router itself. You don't need credentials to connect your own router. When you connect your own router to the bridged port you will get a direct connection.

But in my mind you only need to do this if you want to change settings in the router. I have myself most of the time just disabled WiFi in my ISP router and connected Unifi AP's for WiFi. The problem with most customer routers is that they are not getting updates for more than a few years. By sticking to the ISP router they will keep the router up to date and replace it if they see a need. Since I'm not using the WiFi of the router performance didn't really matter much. After doing this for many years I have however now replaced the ISP router with an ethernet only router that is semi professional.

Thankfully, ISPs in Sweden generally don't use PPPoE. Instead, it's just straight DHCPv4 for IPv4 and DHCPv6-PD for IPv6 (for ISPs that offer it).

Thanks all of you for replies.

If I can get a public IP address on my router, I am able to open some ports on my route to access some services like NAS, dockers, socks5 proxy... from outside of my home network. That's what I want. I associate a domain to this IP address by DDNS, then I can access these services by the domain host anywhere I want.

I am using Proxmox VE in my X86 mini-PC, in which there are VMs like NAS, ubuntu, openwrt, and a Chinese AC system, then I can connect some APs to it. For some services in docker and NAS, I need some ports openned to connect from outside.

You should be able to open ports on the ISPs router as it is, or on your own router connected to it through bridge mode.
As far as I know, Tele2 does not use CGNAT outside of mobile connections, they do in fact offer 4 public IPs if you have a 100mbit+ connection according to their site.

OK. I will try and come back here if I get any problem.
Thank you.
