Lowering the Hardware Sound Acceleration on your computer may fix this issue. Please follow these directions to do so:

1. Click on your Start menu in the lower left hand corner of the screen and select "Run."

2. In the dialog box that appears, type "dxdiag" (do not include quotation marks) and hit OK. Within a few seconds the Direct X Diagnostic Tool should appear.

3. Look at the tabs along the top of this new window and click on "Sound."

4. You will notice a slider on this page that is labeled "Hardware Sound Acceleration Level." Click on the marker and move it to the left to decrease the acceleration level.

5. Continue to do this until the sound in the game is at a satisfactory speed. If you wish, you can simply turn the slider all the way to the left, which will disable Sound Acceleration altogether.
