Intel valde som bekant för en tid sedan att gå över till DDR-minnen istället för RDRAM-minnen från Rambus. Senaste tiden har även det rapporterats att Intel har pressat JEDEC att göra DDR400 till en standard, och nu verkar det ske.
Intel is probably the most influential personal computer industry participant, even despite of the fact that their influence began to become weaker in the recent years, the company still can “kill" or “spare" certain technology achievements. This time the company decided to spare the DDR400 memory from falling into oblivion on the mainstream market and adopt it in the future chipsets such as CaterWood and Springdale what caused JEDEC to change their opinion not to ratify the standard.
