It is pretty interesting to see how the next generation GDDR3 can be implemented onto the NVIDIA and ATi GPUs. GDDR3 is expected to have VDD at 1.8V or lower to allow for higher frequencies from 1.5Gbps to over 2Gbps. The diagrams shown uses 128Bit Bus SingleLoad DQ (4 x 32Bit) for the GeForce FX and 256Bit Bus SingleLoad DQ (8 x 32Bit) for the R300/350 that connects the GPU and GDDR3 which is bi-directional as you can see. On-Die-Termination is set during powerup to reduce noise level and maintain data signal along the DQ bus.
